Fused Glass
Bird Garden Stake
Workshop
We will be creating a 10” round bird stake using sheet glass, frit and vitrigraph. Their will be choices of background colour and type of bird, and colour of bird for your fused glass piece. This piece can be displayed in the included steel garden stake.
Day One
The first morning students will cut 2 10” circles, add frit for depth and set up the fiber paper design for the kiln carving. Pieces will be in the kiln by noon, for a full fuse, to be ready for Sunday. You will be encouraged to experiment with different shapes to create a bird scene. This project will then be tack fused.
Day Two
Sunday afternoon the circles will be cool enough to work on. You will set up your bird design on the fired disc to prepare for the tack fuse. There will be a variety of colours available for a choice of birds leaves and twigs (see below). Projects will be available to pick up at a later date.
